From their first business focusing on environmentally friendly car care products to their current venture, Therapy Clean, Anne Ruozzi and James Dudra have leaned on the New Hampshire Small Business Development Center (NH SBDC) to grow and adapt.  

UNH undergraduate student Leandra Bryant ’25 has received the prestigious Graduate Research Fellowship (GRFP) from the National Science Foundation. Awarded to students pursuing master’s and doctoral degrees in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, the five-year fellowship includes three years of financial support, with an annual stipend and tuition allowance.

UNH held its annual Pride and Pancakes breakfast to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community Tuesday, April 8, honoring the recipients of this year’s Bill Kidder LGBTQIA+ Awards and welcoming Sandra Denoncour, executive director of the Joan G. Lovering Health Center, to deliver a keynote speech.

The celebration – formerly known as the LGBTQ+ and Ally Pancake Breakfast – was held in the Granite State Room in the MUB and was streamed online for additional virtual attendees. This year’s event marked the 32nd annual gathering.

David Shaw ’73, an entrepreneur and philanthropist whose family funded the creation of the Shaw Innovation Explorers Program at UNH, visited campus April 1 for a lunch with students in the program and UNH president Elizabeth Chilton, as well as a fireside chat about his new book, “Wave Making: Inspired by Impact.”

UNH researchers are partnering with local communities, farmers and residents to make the Earth a better place, often using participatory science to directly involve the public in the process. In a high school garage turned engineering lab, UNH President Elizabeth Chilton recently met with a team of scuba-certified students at Sanborn Regional High School (SRHS) who are building and racing human-powered submarines — thanks in part to a unique partnership with UNH.

Earlier this week, UNH rolled out the blue carpet to celebrate an exclusive first look at its upcoming episode of The College Tour, the Amazon Prime series that showcases standout students and the stories behind their college experiences.

The UNH community rallied together to once again make this year’s (603) Challenge a record-setting success, with more than 11,800 donors combining to raise more than $3.6 million for the university – the most money ever raised during a single challenge. It was the 11th consecutive year that the challenge has exceeded the previous year’s results.

What does it mean to be a Land, Sea and Space Grant university? The triple designation signifies a collaboration between the U.S. government partners and UNH to produce and share research grounded in solutions that understand and improve the world around us.
